Description

Magic was in the air on a nightly basis at Philadelphia's Spectrum arena during the 1970s. The "Broad Street Bullies" were the greatest show on ice, and when the hardwood was laid out, "Dr. J" would put on a display of aerial acrobatics that was flat out mesmerizing. In 1978, the Sixers traded for Bobby Jones, and drafted Maurice Cheeks, giving head coach Billy Cunningham a pair of future Hall of Famers to complement the good Dr.

From the 1978-79 Philadelphia 76ers season, come these multi-signed items:

Maurice Cheeks rookie season game-used pair of sneakers, with (3) autographs on each shoe. These Nike hi-tops are both labeled "Cheeks" on the back, and both shoes are stamped inside the tongues with "78-10-12 NR". Signature strength averages ("7-8") with: left shoe: Maurice Cheeks with "#10" inscription, Julius Erving, Caldwell Jones; and right shoe: Cheeks, Erving, Darryl Dawkins with "#53". Full photo LOA from JSA for both shoes.

2/12/79 PAL dinner program, from an event held at the Marriott Hotel. The front cover is signed by (11) with average ("8-9") strength. Featured signers are: Darryl Dawkins, Julius Erving with "Dr. J", Steve Mix, Billy Cunningham, Bobby Jones, Joe Bryant, Maurice Cheeks, Eric Money, Caldwell Jones, Henry Bibby, and (1) undetermined. Full photo LOA from JSA.
