While it’s been more than three decades since the Colts departed Baltimore, the team’s tradition as the first in the league with cheerleaders has come a long way from the squad’s 1954 inception with crew-neck sweaters and pleated skirts. Simultaneously selling sex and football, this 1970s ensemble is a bold reminder that while the Colts’ fortunes waned, there was always something to watch on the Memorial Stadium sidelines! With a full-size mannequin to facilitate display, the outfit includes: shorts, nylons, boots, (2) vests, 10-gallon hat and a blonde wig.
Shorts: pair of white polyester shorts (these are small!) with five belt loops, a zippered fly and a blue Colts horseshoe logo on the right buttock.
Boots: pair of white leather size “8” corral boots (moderate wear is evident).
(2) Vests: includes a blue nylon zippered undergarment; and a blue-and-white nylon vest with blue frills along the collar and front edges.
