Celebrated sports publication artist Lon Keller crafted a masterpiece for the cover of this 1941 World Series program. Depicted is a colonial era Ben Franklin-like figure wielding a scale balancing the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. The scales would soon be tipped in the Yankees favor as the “Bronx Bombers” blitzed “Dem Bums” in a five game “Subway Series”. Issued at Yankee Stadium this colorful program rates as (VG-EX, detached centerfold) with vibrant colors, desirable gloss and a sturdy spine. Play by play results are recorded neatly on the scorecard pages which list notables DiMaggio, Dickey, Keller, Rizzuto, Durocher, Medwick and Reese along with a fine supporting cast. Featured on the last page is a heartfelt 1941 WS dedication in honor of Yankees legend Lou Gehrig who passed away just four months earlier.
