As storied careers go, that of Clark Griffith (d.1955) is certainly a lengthy read. Born in 1869 Griffith broke into the majors in 1891, won 237 games as pitcher, became the first team captain of the New York Highlanders, managed several teams, assumed control of the Washington Senators in 1920 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1946. Take home a small slice of a great baseball man’s legacy with this Clark Griffith signed GPC. This standard sized 5-1/2 x 3-1/4” card is imprinted with a two-cent Franklin stamp on the obverse and is postmarked 9/5/52. Located on the reverse side Griffith’s blue steel-tip fountain autograph shows prominent (“8-9”) potency. Sections of surface paper loss along the top and bottom edged of the signed side of the card do not affect the signature. Full photo LOA from JSA.
