The only designated hitter to win a batting title, former Seattle Mariners slugger Edgar Martinez paced the circuit with a .356 mark in 1995. In that year’s postseason, Martinez added some hitting exploits which are celebrated, in part, on these (12) single-signed baseballs. The snow-white OML spheres (all grade “10”) showcase sweet spot ballpoint pennings executed by Martinez (all “9-10” strength). On (9) of the orbs, Martinez has inscribed “312 career avg,” while the remaining (3) have inscriptions reading “The Double 10-8-95.” The latter refers, of course, to Martinez’ ALDS Game 5 11th-inning heroics which sent the Mariners to the ALCS and eliminated the New York Yankees. Individual certs/stickers from JSA.
