The mainstay on Pittsburgh rosters throughout his unparalleled career, Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente was remarkably consistent, posting annually astounding numbers even as his club’s fortunes waned. This ONL Giles ball was autographed by the selfless Steel City icon during one such period in Bucs history. The lightly toned orb is mildly affected by intermittent surface abrasions and showcases Clemente’s black-ink endorsement. Executed on a side panel and prefaced by a “Best Wishes” salutation, Clemente’s familiar “two-tier” signature projects (“4”) strength. The trademark stampings date the sphere to 1962-1967. While the Pirates struggled as a team during that stretch, Clemente warranted MVP consideration in each of those seasons. Full photo LOA from PSA/DNA. This item has a reserve (estimated value: $1300-$2000)
