Description

As they polished their skills during spring training, members of the 1963 Orioles endorsed this vintage bobblehead doll. The 7”-tall green base nodder is in stellar condition and was “converted” into a promotional item with “WCBG” call letters on the cap and “Dial 1590” on the base (a Waynesboro, PA radio station that broadcast Oriole games). On the base’s underside, ballpoint pennings show (“8-9”) strength and include: Brandt, N. Fox, Gentile, MacPhail (General Manager) and B. Robinson. Full photo LOA from JSA.

Note: Nellie Fox was a member of the Chicago White Sox in 1963 and was likely on hand during a spring training exhibition when this item was signed, as a handwritten notation near the autographs reads: “2-5-63.”
