While the 1932 Fall Classic marked “firsts” with uniform numbers for both teams, as well as the first of two 1930s matchups between the Yankees and curse-stricken Chicago Cubs, it also marked the seventh and last World Series appearance by Babe Ruth. And oh, what a memorable endeavor it was, as Ruth, by most accounts, boldly “called” a tape-measure home run to highlight a four-game sweep by the Bronx Bombers. Among the most alluring of October artifacts, this press pin was issued at Yankee Stadium for Games 1 and 2 of that memorable encounter. Crafted by Dieges & Clust, the metallic souvenir features a gold-colored facing with “PRESS” in raised letters. Surrounding are blue, white and red panels with raised identifiers of “YANKKE STADIUM,” “1932” and “WORLD SERIES.” The threaded post and nut remain intact.
