As gridiron heroes (and Memorial Stadium patrons) began to disappear in Baltimore, tight end Reese McCall wore this Colts home jersey during the early portion (1978-1981) of his NFL career. The blue mesh pullover garment features “86” displayed on the front, back and sleeves in white appliqué and “McCALL” on a nameplate atop the back number in like fashion. On the left front tail, a Baltimore Colts exclusivity tag is accompanied by a “Medalist Sand-Knit” size “48” label. Moderate wear is evident. Full photo LOA from Dave Miedema.
Blue-and-white striped stretch ribbed knit panels line the shoulders. This style dates to 1978-1981, an era during which McCall scored all 12 of his career touchdowns. Evidence of moderate wear includes a series of minor team repairs, which are common for jerseys worn by tight ends.
